An Internet meme or meme, is a cultural item that is spread via the Internet, often through social media platforms. The name is by the concept of memes proposed by Richard Dawkins in 1972. Internet memes can take various forms, such as images, videos, GIFs, and various other viral sensations.

Legitimately tempted to try this on my next discussion post...
I don't get referencing. What happens if you have a unique thought about something? How do you reference that?
You're supposed to reference if:
- You are repeating or paraphrasing something you found elsewhere
OR
- You are making an assertion of fact (in which case you should be referencing something that shows Proofs)
If you have a unique thought then you shout it from the skies and get a book deal.
