Hello!

Thanks in advance for any suggestions!

I got a big iPad Pro 12.9 and love it! I can hook it up to my monitor and it works brilliantly so to save me from changing to my Mac Mini all the time, I was hoping to just pop in my iPad and work away on it and so far all good for the most part!

Thing is I use the following apps on Mac:

4k video downloader - an app to download YT videos in MP4 or MP3 format Handbrake - Programme to compress video files without quality loss

Can anyone suggest an alternative through perhaps a website or app that will do similar things, please?

No pressure but figured you fine folks would have a better chance of knowing than me scouring less reputable places online!

Thanks!

There are a number of apps on the App Store that claim to be able to download YouTube videos.

But if you are used to the command line, you can use youtube-dl on an iPad by using a shell emulator app, available from the App Store, like a-shell or ish. It requires knowing how to use a Linux shell. Here’s an article that has a Shortcut to do it using a-shell.

Thank you kindly! I don’t know how to do any of that but will look into it!

There are easier ways - search the App Store for “youtube downloader” - I tried one called Offline that worked pretty well (other than being ad-infested).

But using youtube-dl gives you the most control.
