Welcome to the discussion of US Politics!

Rules:

  1. Post only links to articles, Title must fairly describe link contents. If your title differs from the site’s, it should only be to add context or be more descriptive. Do not post entire articles in the body or in the comments.

Links must be to the original source, not an aggregator like Google Amp, MSN, or Yahoo.

Example:

  1. Articles must be relevant to politics. Links must be to quality and original content. Articles should be worth reading. Clickbait, stub articles, and rehosted or stolen content are not allowed. Check your source for Reliability and Bias here.
  2. Be civil, No violations of TOS. It’s OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It’s NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). Strong language is fine, just not directed at other members. Engage in good-faith and with respect! This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban.
  3. No memes, trolling, or low-effort comments. Reposts, misinformation, off-topic, trolling, or offensive. Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. Report them, block them, and live a happier life than they do. We see too many slapfights that boil down to "Mom! He's bugging me!" and "I'm not touching you!" Going forward, slapfights will result in removed comments and temp bans to cool off.
  4. Vote based on comment quality, not agreement. This community aims to foster discussion; please reward people for putting effort into articulating their viewpoint, even if you disagree with it.
  5. No hate speech, slurs, celebrating death, advocating violence, or abusive language. This will result in a ban. Usernames containing racist, or inappropriate slurs will be banned without warning

We ask that the users report any comment or post that violate the rules, to use critical thinking when reading, posting or commenting. Users that post off-topic spam, advocate violence, have multiple comments or posts removed, weaponize reports or violate the code of conduct will be banned.

All posts and comments will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. This means that some content that violates the rules may be allowed, while other content that does not violate the rules may be removed. The moderators retain the right to remove any content and ban users.

That's all the rules!

These are Trump’s sycophants not Zelenskyy’s allies as the headline is a little vague.

[–] tonytins@pawb.social 10 points 1 week ago (1 children)

This is the same guy who posted a bunch of Newsweek articles a while back.

[–] SatansMaggotyCumFart@lemmy.world 12 points 1 week ago (2 children)

It’s also the same guy who responds with I just post the article if you don’t like it take it up with the people who wrote or published it.

I think we all know who Donald J Musk is and now that the election is over they’re not shilling for Rachele Fruit anymore.

Obviously, this guy does not take responsibility for anything.

Agreed. What's ironic is they've been getting downvoted to oblivion in every conservative community they go to. It seems like he's been kicked out of most of them, judging by the dwindling cross-post references, and has already flooded the one at lemm.ee.

It’s actually kind of interesting to see the entire fediverse ostracize a user no matter what alt they’re currently using.

Well, they basically equate every Lemmy community they go to, no matter how different the server, as basically being the same. So the backlash is pretty justified.

Yep, had the same thought

AP has been showing a definite rightwards leaning lately. It may be deliberate that the headline gives the impression Trump is a leader who inspires allies, rather than a cult leader with sycophants.

The room was FULL of cameras. You can make your own decision. Reality does not line up with speaker Johnson... Again.

TL;DR: A bunch of losers have bullshit opinions about the position of someone who, rightly, does not respect them.

The GOP can get bent.

[–] BrianTheeBiscuiteer@lemmy.world 9 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Really AP? Allies? Does a mob boss call his goons allies? They're puppets, sycophants, patsies, and cronies. They're not even close to being his equal.

Yeah, the body is much less sus than the title, which seems intentionally misleading (to include other (NATO?) countries).

I know world is a fuck, but kinda hoped AP kept it up a minimum.

Still, a resignation just after the war (or when the outcome is known) is a good general preventive practice imho.
Something like a ban (forever or at least a decade) for any official serving in wartime to not be eligible to run for any office position. It's just too much idle power that can get so wrong (& corrupt) over time. This should be the rule for any major socioeconomical changes in a county (a significant war, a revolution, a transition between different systems of governance or economic systems, etc).

[–] JeeBaiChow@lemmy.world 6 points 1 week ago

I think the republican congress needs to resign.

So, the usual anti-Ukraine nonsense we've head time and time again.
