Seriously. Buying into western rhetoric is one of the stupidest things non-member nations can do.
They don't realize that westerners only look out for their own interests. If you're not part of their "in-group" then they will only use you for their gain.
Never assume that a country ruling class looks out for the interests of their nation, they only care for their own interests. Before the complete takeover of financial capital and thus its globalization, industrial capitalists still had an interest in the development of their own nation since their capital was in their own nation. Now they could hardly give a shit if their country goes to shit since they have their money capital elsewhere.
You act as if this is not the case for every country in the world, past and present with very few and temporary exceptions
This is a relatively new thing, even for capitalism. The national bourgeoisie used to have a degree of national interest in developing the nation to mantain their factories, farms, etc even their money capital was physically in their country.
Now their money capital is in its majority invested in western institutions and they straight up have no interest in their own nations.
The difference is that the US does not recognize the concept of "win-win". It is all zero sum games for them. In order for the US to gain someone else must lose. This is not the attitude that most other countries adopt.
And it didn’t work. Zelinskyy’s opponents said fuck that and fuck you.
Once again libs will be taken by surprise when tHe tAnKiEs turn out to be right and Zelensky either gets with the program or gets acquainted with the wall.
I saw news on this yesterday- pretty sure all of Zelenskyy's political opponents unanimously made public statements saying they would not have an election before the end of the war.

While the Ukrainian parliament has 450 members. The article implicitly confirms that much of the parliament is not there at the vote when it says that the threshold for passing the resolution is 226 votes.
So this article is not actually saying that the opposition has given approval to Zelensky's term (though they might have, idk).

None of those actually mention the vote in Ukrainian parliament, that is where the "unanimously" comes from 😇 I've looked through several sources and AJ English had it summarized the best 🤷♂️

Fair enough! While the vote isn't mentioned in mine, they do talk about the opposition making public statements that they would refuse to run an election in wartime, which was enough in my mind for showing intent. I do appreciate the extra source.

Primarily that, yes. I appreciate the source of information, and if they are the ones reporting first- that is what it is, I just personally don't read it if I can help it.

No, you're right. They may or may not be working for them. Regardless, if they're willing to go behind Zelenskyy's back with the republicans in the US, they aren't on Ukraine's side and helping the Russians. They may not be doing it intentionally.
Perhaps, or perhaps they told Trump to fuck off. Or perhaps they don't agree with Zelensky's approach to ending the war and are trying to replace him, etc etc. I think it's disingenuous and dangerous to assume that if someone doesn't 100% agree with the current president of Ukraine that they are traitors.
