I know the photoshopped but I don't get this one. It's not a creative play on their request for superman, Aquaman, and the flash

Yeah, I thought the joke in this one was weaker than usual too.

I guess Aquaman as a firefighter makes sense, and so does a Flash as a delivery man, but Superman as a doctor isn't as clear.

I assumed it was because doctors save lives and that's kind of what Superman is known for even though that's not necessarily a specific trait

I understood it as just being that doctors are superheroes cause of the nature of their work, superman just being your most generic type of superhero. though the interpretation works better if it was a nurse imo.

Yeah, if he just requested them to look like superheroes, it would be fine, but he requested specific ones.

Also, there's a person whose favorite superhero is Aquaman? Really?

I mean of you're too young to remember any earlier versions than Momoa and idk, you share some ancestry that you identify with or something, and you're not into reading the comics, then sure, I'm sure there are people who for some reasons prefer DC and then prefer Aquaman

I too find it improbable but I guess it is possible

Yeah it is. Doctors are Supermen for obvious reasons. Firefighters are aquamen because water. Delivery people are The Flash because of fast 2 day delivery. What don't you get?

It's weird but I actually don't consider people fulfilling normal everyday professions as heroes. It may be because I played heroes of might and magic 3 as a kid and my concept of 'hero' has connotations of someone being extraordinary.

I mean, don't get me wrong, since those kids are apparently destined to be workers according to james, idolizing normal jobs is ummm ok. But it's sort of like taking kids who specifically want to be extroardinary and telling them "no. u will be a brick in the wall."

When I think hero i think Guru Aurobindo, Feynman, Mai Bhago, StBridgid, Barry the Dog, neem karoli baba, ben franklin, selassie, carl sagan, etc etc etc.

So haha BUT when a kid wants to be extraordinary and above the norm, the correct answer is to empower them upward to reach what heights they can; not pull them down.

I think it's pretty common to view a doctor saving someones life as heroic or a fireman pulling someone from a fire as heroic. They are normal jobs I guess but often involve acts that people view as heroic. Seems like it conveys the message. Not sure about delivery dude. More troublesome to me is that the artist completely ignored the latter part of the instructions that specifically mentioned 'super' heros

I'm unfamiliar with that delivery uniform, maybe it's another country's postal service, but the USPS has had a kind of "higher purpose" associated with it. E.g.

The Postal Service shall have as its basic function the obligation to provide postal services to bind the Nation together through the personal, educational, literary, and business correspondence of the people. It shall provide prompt, reliable, and efficient services to patrons in all areas and shall render postal services to all communities.

Neither snow nor rain nor heat nor gloom of night stays these couriers from the swift completion of their appointed rounds.

This is a guy known for doing monkeys paw style photoshops for people, he's not getting paid and people expect this kind of thing

Honestly, being a (voluntary) firefighter is 90% exercises, 5% special training (learning new tech etc.), and <= 5% actually being in action. For our region, 'action' means 40% false alarms from the system at a hospital, 20% false alarm of someone being in the river near us (there never is anyone), and 30% other alarms. From the 10% of other action, most times we search for someone or clean up oil, pump out basement etc. In 2 years we had 5 fires, 3 of those were arson and basically a one-time thing. And of all of those, no human was ever in risk, except my sanity when being woken at 4 am before an exam.

Well, yeah I guess most fire fighters are just diligent hard workers - super admirable, but certainly some get the opportunity to reach hero status.
