Privacy has become a very important issue in modern society, with companies and governments constantly abusing their power, more and more people are waking up to the importance of digital privacy.
In this community everyone is welcome to post links and discuss topics related to privacy.
Some Rules
- Posting a link to a website containing tracking isn't great, if contents of the website are behind a paywall maybe copy them into the post
- Don't promote proprietary software
- Try to keep things on topic
- If you have a question, please try searching for previous discussions, maybe it has already been answered
- Reposts are fine, but should have at least a couple of weeks in between so that the post can reach a new audience
- Be nice :)

I don't trust mega. Its currently owned by another Chinese company. And many people get their own accounts wiped all the time.
I think it's the most (generally) well-known E2EE cloud storage. There are several cloud storage services that offer better security/privacy if you simply want to upload your data, but I think it's a great service for distributing files to an unspecified number of people on the Internet.
Uhm, MEGA-upload and the entire legacy of Kim Dotcom is really shady. I guess this might not be directly related to him any more, but I would still stay clear.
I'm not sure on this but when back on the days that I still using it. I heard that MEGA kind sold to some company on china and the creator of MEGA said that "I won't trust MEGA anymore because of the new shady things they do right now". I might wrong but that's the reason why I don't use it
