Chris Keyser added in a pointed speech that lasted over 17 minutes that when it comes to the 2023 Writers Guild of America and SAG-AFTRA negotiations, "there is no winner or loser. It’s just a deal."

This is likely how this will end: some smaller studios get desperate, and they break from the pack to make a deal.

Then suddenly they can produce new shows and none of their competitors can, so all the other studios fold and agree to the deal too so they aren’t left out in the cold.

It’s how the musicians strike of 1942-1944 ended.

I'd say things are looking especially good for A24 and Angel Studios, who both got exemptions for some of their productions already. If I were them I'd sign an agreement with them, accepting their terms and allowing all their productions to not be classified as struck work

As others have said, it isn't an exception in that those studios are getting a special deal. A24 and Angel studios are getting the last good faith deal that the union offered before the strike. Because these studios are accepting the terms of the union, there is no reason for the union to withhold labor.

As a dutch, I can say "this is the way".
