No it is not. Threads has barely dipped their toes into the water - there are all kinds of limitations. I can't remember the details but it's something like "we can follow a threads user but they can't see any of our replies to their posts". It's barely functioning.
No Stupid Questions
No such thing. Ask away!
!nostupidquestions is a community dedicated to being helpful and answering each others' questions on various topics.
The rules for posting and commenting, besides the rules defined here for lemmy.world, are as follows:
Rules (interactive)
Rule 1- All posts must be legitimate questions. All post titles must include a question.
All posts must be legitimate questions, and all post titles must include a question. Questions that are joke or trolling questions, memes, song lyrics as title, etc. are not allowed here. See Rule 6 for all exceptions.
Rule 2- Your question subject cannot be illegal or NSFW material.
Your question subject cannot be illegal or NSFW material. You will be warned first, banned second.
Rule 3- Do not seek mental, medical and professional help here.
Do not seek mental, medical and professional help here. Breaking this rule will not get you or your post removed, but it will put you at risk, and possibly in danger.
Rule 4- No self promotion or upvote-farming of any kind.
That's it.
Rule 5- No baiting or sealioning or promoting an agenda.
Questions which, instead of being of an innocuous nature, are specifically intended (based on reports and in the opinion of our crack moderation team) to bait users into ideological wars on charged political topics will be removed and the authors warned - or banned - depending on severity.
Rule 6- Regarding META posts and joke questions.
Provided it is about the community itself, you may post non-question posts using the [META] tag on your post title.
On fridays, you are allowed to post meme and troll questions, on the condition that it's in text format only, and conforms with our other rules. These posts MUST include the [NSQ Friday] tag in their title.
If you post a serious question on friday and are looking only for legitimate answers, then please include the [Serious] tag on your post. Irrelevant replies will then be removed by moderators.
Rule 7- You can't intentionally annoy, mock, or harass other members.
If you intentionally annoy, mock, harass, or discriminate against any individual member, you will be removed.
Likewise, if you are a member, sympathiser or a resemblant of a movement that is known to largely hate, mock, discriminate against, and/or want to take lives of a group of people, and you were provably vocal about your hate, then you will be banned on sight.
Rule 8- All comments should try to stay relevant to their parent content.
Rule 9- Reposts from other platforms are not allowed.
Let everyone have their own content.
Rule 10- Majority of bots aren't allowed to participate here.

Why does the Fediverse need Zuckerberg's poison?
I can almost certainly guarantee that less than a decade from now we'll see all of the big fediverse things like threads and bluesky and whoever else joins trying to attract more and more people to the point they have the majority of the users. Then they'll snatch away being able to view the content if you ain't part of their newly walled communities. So, even though we don't need it, the big Zuck and the others will absolutely try to force-feed us their slop until they're able to take it away, g••gle talk style.
Because daddy said so and he will find a way into your life, boy
This may help explain some of the discrepencies that you're noticing:
Fedipact - The instances blocking Zuckerberg's Threads.net
I didn't know that website, thank you! However, my instance has chosen not to defederate from Threads – according to the source you cited. So, I'm not entirely sure why this is happening.
hmm in that case what @introvertcatto@lemmy.blahaj.zone said might be it then
Sorry I wasn't of help, hopefully someone more knowledgable will be able to help!🫡👍
That's totally okay! You didn't address my specific issue; but I didn't know that there were instances across the Fediverse that chose to defederate from Threads. I think that, in a way, you've partly answered my question. Thank you for taking your time to answer.
I think on threads, you have to opt-in in settings to be "part of the fediverse" and not everyone is enabled it for whatever reason.
Oh, that's interesting; I had no idea. I'll go to my Threads profile and check it. I'll edit this comment later informing whether there really is that option.
Edit: The only option I was able to find was "Suggesting posts on other apps," and when I clicked on it I only had two options: Instagram and Facebook – none of which are part of the Fediverse. I wasn't able to find anything on 'Meta's Accounts Center' either.
Where are you based? I think this is not available in the EU since Zuck wants to punish us for being privacy focused and threatening his exploitative business model.
That would make sense...
Thats a shame as the main advantage of federation with a large corporation like threads is that it will do the heavy lifting on introducing the masses to the concept of federation.
I think so too. And I tried to do my research before making this post, but I wasn't able to find anyone bringing this issue up.
Threads is stupid. 🤷
No.
