I got win10, just installed a new Brother printer, now i am getting ink/toner ads mascaraed as notifications

that's brother's software. they have added a lot of crud to them in recent versions.

when they're actually needed: custom install, drivers only, and along the way watch for any optional and undesirable settings to disable.

I too am running Win11 24H Production build 26100.2605 , and ~~do not see these System/Notifications/Additional Settings, so, yeah, that's weird~~ edit: they were all the way down at the bottom of the page past the list of applications

Been downvoted to hell for saying it, but the only ad I see is some innocuous crap on the lock screen. That's it.

probably because you've already turned off the 'features' that show them.

that lockscreen crap can be turned off, too, btw.
