LPT: Lower your expectations as low as you can and prepare to still be disappointed, and you'll at least never be really disappointed. Also, practice pessoptimism: Assume the worst and try to make the best of it.
I'm pretty sure the great philosopher Mr. Peanutbutter of BoJack Horseman said it best:
"The universe is a cruel, uncaring void. The key to being happy isn't a search for meaning. It's to just keep yourself busy with unimportant nonsense, and eventually, you'll be dead."
When you expect nothing, you can never be disappointed.
