That should be the meme where the bottom image is accented (galaxy) brain.

Legally acquiring Ubisoft games for sure definitely

[โ€“] ThunderingJerboa@kbin.social 6 points 1 year ago (2 children)

I mean I honestly just don't get this. People say Ubisoft games are pretty trash, so why waste the time and effort of "Legally acquiring" a garbage generic product?

[โ€“] MavTheHack@lemmy.fmhy.ml 10 points 1 year ago

Because some garbage is a bargain when it's free

You are making a fair point, you can enjoy whatever games you want but I see the style of comment I posted all the time. "Ubisoft games are garbage, don't pay 60 dollars for it, just pirate it". That kind of behavior just doesn't make sense to me since again we have a finite amount of time on this world, and wasting it on a product someone see as inferior and just a mere rehash of a game basically from a decade ago is a bit questionable.

Skipping Ubisoft games: "Galaxy Brain Drake"

Don't you still have to use Ubisoft Connect through Steam?

I really don't know why they are the last big publisher to not come back now with Activision/Blizzard now coming back. And they think I will buy the new SW game on their launcher... Tbh tho the division 2 is kinda good.

Maybe some of their really old games. But their new ones all have Denuvo as a DRM so no chance to see them on GOG any time soon.

And still getting to "enjoy" the issues their launcher has (especially on linux).

I remember reading about Ubisoft integration for Heroic a while ago, but I'm not sure anymore.

Would make life on Linux so much easier, every now and then I just want to jump into some Far Cry and do a few outposts, that's always good fun

When the upper management sexual predatory practices and HR cover up scandal emerged I stopped looking forward to Watch Dogs: Legion even though I liked WD2 and wanted to see Clint Hocking at the helm again. Oh well.

Looking forward to a spiritual successor to Far Cry 2 some day.

I personally don't really enjoy don't enjoy most Ubisoft games but yeah if I do buy them it will be from Steam not their launcher.
