Yes, the US has to fix the election system, making it possible to vote on other options that the duopoly without effectively voting against the lesser of two evils. And that won’t happen with a fascist in charge.

Exactly, if Harris wins there will be another election in two years.

If Trump wins, that's not a guarantee

Yeah i remember there were no elections in USA in 2018, 2020, 2022, 2024.

So, I take it that you consider the January 6 coup a case of mild hijinx that hardly had any fatalities?

[–] PolandIsAStateOfMind@lemmy.ml 7 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

Have you ever seen any coup, especially the ones US generously showers over all the world in huge amounts? Compared to that it was a fucking picnic, cops went harder on every left protest in history of USA.

Also you did deflected: were there elections in 2018 and 2020 or not?

[–] Dagwood222@lemm.ee -3 points 2 weeks ago

So, it was a coup?

And your question is completely silly. Jack the Ripper didn't attack every single night; does that mean he wasn't a killer?

Treason is funny; it only takes one single instance to mark a fellow for life.

I don't get it. Two years?

I guess it was too long a read.

One third of the Senate and all of the House of Representatives are elected every two years.

I guess it was too long a read.

I guess fractions are hard?

= 1/2 + 1/2 * 1/3

= 1/2 + 1/6

= 3/6 + 1/6

= 4/6

= 2/3

you'll have to specify which fascist, the blue one or the red one.

[–] skvlp@lemm.ee 5 points 2 weeks ago

One of them fits the definition vey well, while one, at least, has to stretch the definition for the other.

"The danger of Trump is real and I don't have a snowball's chance in hell of stopping him. I'm still going to steal as many votes as I can from the only candidate that can beat him anyway, solely to make an ideological point. Please don't acknowledge how this obviously helps him win."

Then your party should have run a better candidate, Did liberals not learn a thing from 2016?

[–] suburban_hillbilly@lemmy.ml 3 points 2 weeks ago (2 children)

I hope that obstinate pleasure tastes as sweet when the new Secretary of of Education goes back to burying people with their student loans instead working to find relief for them. And the Administrator of the EPA decides that forever chemicals in our water don't need to be regulated. And the new Secretary of Labor decides union busting ought to be protected by the first amendment. And the Secretary of Energy decides wind and solar are the problem actually and natural gas is the future. And the Director of National Intelligence decides the National Socialist Database would pair nicely with the National Trans Identification Registry. Or when the 2-3 fresh, young faces on the supreme court establish fetal personhood. And overturn Obergefell. and Lawrence. and Loving.

[–] Dagwood222@lemm.ee 2 points 2 weeks ago

People like this are either very privileged or incredibly masochistic.

They seem to get a pleasure out of watching everything go down the toilet while screaming about how they were right all along.

[–] K1nsey6@lemmy.ml -4 points 2 weeks ago

Then your party should have run a better candidate. Your candidate right now is turning on the trans community, Your a candidate is helping support a war that is spewing hundreds of thousands of tons of emission into the atmosphere. Your party busted up a union strike. And your party already threw gay and lesbian marriages and interracial marriages under the bus with the respect for Marriage Act.

[–] Dagwood222@lemm.ee -3 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

Obviously you learned nothing.

Socialists failed to get the vote out for Bernie, even when they knew it would be an uphill fight.

Now they are failing again.

I wish I had the privilege of being safe enough not to have to worry about Trump deputizing a bunch of Red Hats and doing mass arrests.

[–] K1nsey6@lemmy.ml 0 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

Bernie is not a socialist. Bernie is and always has been a sheepdog. He'll spout all of these socialist leaning tidbits of rhetoric then support those that we are fighting against.

[–] Dagwood222@lemm.ee 1 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

So, you had a chance to get a Left leaning pol elected, and threw it away because he wasn't perfect?

What am I missing here?

[–] K1nsey6@lemmy.ml 2 points 2 weeks ago

He is a DNC sheepdog, The DNC has had a sheepdog every election. A somewhat progressive sounding voice to give disenfranchised Democrat voters the illusion that if they stick around long enough, they might eventually get a seat at the table. And sheepdogs always sheepdog until it's too late to form outside coalitions from the party, allowing enough time for ballot access. And now that it's too late for those outside coalitions, their true colors come bleeding through.
