Welcome to the discussion of US Politics!

Rules:

  1. Post only links to articles, Title must fairly describe link contents. If your title differs from the site’s, it should only be to add context or be more descriptive. Do not post entire articles in the body or in the comments.

Links must be to the original source, not an aggregator like Google Amp, MSN, or Yahoo.

Example:

  1. Articles must be relevant to politics. Links must be to quality and original content. Articles should be worth reading. Clickbait, stub articles, and rehosted or stolen content are not allowed. Check your source for Reliability and Bias here.
  2. Be civil, No violations of TOS. It’s OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It’s NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). Strong language is fine, just not directed at other members. Engage in good-faith and with respect! This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban.
  3. No memes, trolling, or low-effort comments. Reposts, misinformation, off-topic, trolling, or offensive. Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. Report them, block them, and live a happier life than they do. We see too many slapfights that boil down to "Mom! He's bugging me!" and "I'm not touching you!" Going forward, slapfights will result in removed comments and temp bans to cool off.
  4. Vote based on comment quality, not agreement. This community aims to foster discussion; please reward people for putting effort into articulating their viewpoint, even if you disagree with it.
  5. No hate speech, slurs, celebrating death, advocating violence, or abusive language. This will result in a ban. Usernames containing racist, or inappropriate slurs will be banned without warning

We ask that the users report any comment or post that violate the rules, to use critical thinking when reading, posting or commenting. Users that post off-topic spam, advocate violence, have multiple comments or posts removed, weaponize reports or violate the code of conduct will be banned.

All posts and comments will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. This means that some content that violates the rules may be allowed, while other content that does not violate the rules may be removed. The moderators retain the right to remove any content and ban users.

That's all the rules!

"Oh, I think you guys are at the wrong rally. You meant to go to the smaller one down the street."

Expert level burn.

Thanks for the anti-clickbait.

Not clickbait, when MAGA supporters get hit with reality this hard they literally disperse into a puff of smoke

[–] x00z@lemmy.world 52 points 2 weeks ago

I mean the "one liner" could at least have been put in the OP.

[–] DoucheBagMcSwag@lemmy.dbzer0.com 11 points 2 weeks ago

It definitely is clickbait

Coulda added, “don’t worry, you probably haven’t missed the dance number, they go on for a while.”

When the commotion started, Harris smiled at the disrupters and said, “Oh, you guys are at the wrong rally.”

As the crowd roared, Harris readied the punchline:

“I think you meant to go to the smaller one down the street.”

Ouch.

The crowd erupted again as Harris laughed and waved the protesters goodbye.

I don't really get going to political rallies at all, but what kind of losers with nothing better to do go to a political rally of your opponent.

[–] SGforce@lemmy.ca 189 points 2 weeks ago (8 children)

It's an attempt to intimidate or even start a fight. You know, like brownshirts.

[–] FuglyDuck@lemmy.world 25 points 2 weeks ago

So… do you think the brown comes from Dear Leader’s diaper?

I went to a Bernie rally. Only time I’ve wanted to go to a rally before or since.

[–] EleventhHour@lemmy.world 25 points 2 weeks ago (2 children)

Same. He was amazing in Washington Sq Park in 2016

I went to a Bernie Sanders rally, it was 🔥

I actually love the fact that stadiums full of people go to political rallies and get jazzed about policy speeches. It's strange, right? But I'm glad it's something we get collectively psyched about. In a democracy, it (usually) feels healthy.

They probably showed up expecting a "weak" and "stupid"/"low IQ" Harris fumbling over mindlessly reading the teleprompter to a handful of mentally unwell AI-generated rabid leftists and drag queens and instead got their ass handed to them

[–] Passerby6497@lemmy.world 49 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

I know there was some dingdong on here last week sure her campaign was going to blow up this week and her numbers were going to tank. I'm giving it another week or two before responding again just to drive home how big of a dingdong they really are.

[–] Juice@midwest.social 42 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

Normalize tactical use of "dingdong"

[–] MehBlah@lemmy.world 19 points 2 weeks ago (4 children)

I support this as long as we bring back dagnabbit as well.

And because she had a quick response for them other MAGA are going to claim they were plants and not real MAGA.
Love when they go to "prove" something only to get disowned by their own in-group.

[–] ravhall@discuss.online 60 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

That’s actually pretty good. She didn’t even need to say how great her rally was or how it was the best rally or how no one does a masterlock confefe like she does

[–] vxx@lemmy.world 25 points 2 weeks ago

She also didn't say they need to get knocked out.

[–] CileTheSane@lemmy.ca 17 points 2 weeks ago (2 children)

Trump's response would have been "won't somebody rid me of these troublesome Democrats?"

[–] OlinOfTheHillPeople@lemmy.world 10 points 2 weeks ago

You're right! It happened a few days ago, but his threat was slightly more specific:
