Because he's a stupid dumbass

X is a solid wall of outrage over lack of government relief. What is nuts is these same people yelling are the same people that want to shutdown FEMA.

[–] Blueberrydreamer@lemmynsfw.com 3 points 3 hours ago (1 children)

Not just that, there's a bunch of nutjobs that believe FEMA is using the disaster as cover to nationalize the lithium mines near Chimney Rock. There are groups organizing to try to hunt down first responders.

[–] MyOpinion@lemm.ee 3 points 2 hours ago

These MAGA nutjobs are just poison to this country. They will try to hurt the people that are trying to help them.

Whenever a disaster strikes states A, B, and C in the US, States X, Y, and Z vote against giving them aid. And vice versa.

Trump has been trying to exploit the natural disaster for political gain[.]

Can’t say I’m surprised. Seems to be expected.

Because he's a lying liar.

[–] Zachariah@lemmy.world 16 points 6 hours ago

… who lies.

[–] fubo@lemmy.world 32 points 6 hours ago (1 children)

Because Trumpism is deeply anti-American; it holds the people and institutions of the US in contempt.

[–] Asafum@feddit.nl 8 points 5 hours ago

"The people serve the Empire! The Empire does not serve the people!"

-Trump probably.

Why Trump Is Lying About Disaster Relief

Because he can't not.

[–] ininewcrow@lemmy.ca 12 points 4 hours ago

The problem is not what he is lying about this time

The problem is news services like NYT trying to normalize and accept that someone like Turnip should be presented as a sane public figure that has something to say.

[–] Notyou@sopuli.xyz 10 points 3 hours ago

Fascists lie to erode trust in the government institutions that help society function. If enough people think that the institution is broken, then those people don't mind a little rule breaking to put their guy in charge....after all everyone is breaking the rules.

~~Why~~ Trump Is Lying ~~About Disaster Relief~~

[–] MushuChupacabra@lemmy.world 3 points 5 hours ago

Because he lies.

[–] dirthawker0@lemmy.world 2 points 25 minutes ago

He lies because he's saying things his base wants to hear. He knows he has people who will believe whatever he says, no matter how senseless or extreme. And if confronted with facts that Trump is wrong, they'll justify it in some way: he's joking, or being sarcastic, or people are misinterpreting his equivocation. It's just ego masturbation
