When the point is truth that counters the fascist lies, it NEEDS to be censored...but if they just did the fascists' bidding, it's totally cool to censor truth and actual factual counterpoints.

Fucking Republicans...every accusations is an admission.

I wish these shithead Repubs would panic about the First Amendment even one hundredth as hard as they panic about the Second.

Fuck MAGA, but a broken clock and all that lol

Fuck KOSA too

ETA:

it appears that the GOP’s leadership may have played themselves into making the right call for the right underlying reasons (the censorship powers), but based on a near total misunderstanding of how the world actually works.

LMAO

I disagree with their "why" but I agree that KOSA needs to die and never come back.

[–] grue@lemmy.world 30 points 1 week ago

Stop. Don't.

[–] Carvex@lemmy.world 26 points 1 week ago

No censoring, their ideas are bad and they should feel bad.

As I can understand from EFF articles, the problem is not only in MAGA guys and their conspiracy but in KOSA proposal itself.

[–] DudeImMacGyver@sh.itjust.works 12 points 1 week ago

You know what? That's fine, as long as this bullshit doesn't pass. Tired of Congress trying to pass crazy Internet bills every few years.

What's wrong with killing KOSA?

[–] schnurrito@discuss.tchncs.de 11 points 1 week ago

Nothing of course. I post stories about KOSA in order to make people aware what's happening about it.

They can't seem to decide whether they want the government to regulate things or not regulate things. Their worldview is a lot simpler back when they just said free market anytime anybody wanted to protect someone.

Chodes, each and every one.

Further proof the 1% has defunded education low enough to kill logical critical thinking.

Mr. Scalise said. “And so you got to narrow it. You got to focus it just on kids.”

It's always about the control of kids, etc. but never the politicians themselves.

At least it's for their own good though. This will surely make their worlds much brighter. \s

But the claim that the “Biden administration” has “abused these powers in the past” to “censor conservatives” is a myth. It’s a myth made up by the MAGA world.

Well, not wrong technically. It is entities like Google abusing their position as arbiters of truth (for normies) to censor on behalf of their current favorite political party.
