I was a kid when all of the big social media websites except TikTok took off so I never got to have it anywhere else. I wanted the sense of pride and accomplishment of being the first person ~~on my instance~~ to get my name as their username.
I use this name everywhere on the Internet.
Same, I like consistency.
Its my real first name, but directly translated from Norwegian to English.
It feels just right, also I have used it for a long time and I can't be bothered to think up a new one as I need my brain for other things
Favorite sci-fi novel... and I figure I'll make a hundred alt accounts eventually just like elsewhere so chose whatever for my first.

My kid is into bugs, so we spend a lot of time looking them up. I really like dragonflies. And I added my favorite numbers plus one more because I had to make a new account on a different instance and didn't want it shot down just in case.

"Pocky" is the name of my 19 year old cockatiel. Short for "Apocalypse". I've had him for more than half my life. Love that little guy so much.
I don't know, I was just reflecting on the fact that I moved to Lemmy because Reddit is imploding, which I moved to because Digg was imploding, and hopefully we can halt the enshitification of these platforms.
