the new dimensions are:
Community Banners: 960px x 240px
Profile Banners: 860px x 225px
there are some variations of a few pixels here-or-there depending on vertain browsers or in responsive modes, but these are the basics. uer these, and you should be fine.

i don't want to ruin your day, but this is just the "standard" size. in the "darkly-compact" theme (for example), banners will stretch to the width of the window... just make sure they're high-res!
Thanks for the tip and the info! It will be a good start.
The images I'm currently working with are not sized for a banner anyways so they are going to take a bit of retooling.
