Remake ff8 you cowards

“Final Fantasy I-VI Pixel Remaster has been well received. Are there plans to remaster other past titles? Personally, I would like to play Xenogears,” asked one shareholder.

A member of Square’s board replied: “We will refrain from sharing information about new titles, but we are considering various ideas within the company and hope that you will look forward to forthcoming announcements.”

Article title is completely misleading. Square Enix did not give any hint that it's "considering remastering more old titles", it was just a vague corporate answer to a question.

I'm still a bit peeved they never truly "fixed" the fonts in the pixel remasters. They did update it when the console versions came out, but they still kinda suck.

Here's a quick little comparison I made:

The font I chose on the far right isn't the one you have to choose though if you want to mod in something. There's like 7 different font packs people have made for these games.

I'm just glad we can change it on PC. Sucks for console players though...

How about a FF6 remake while they’re at it?

Correct me if I’m wrong but isn’t FF6 in this remake pack? Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster I - VI

Remaster =/= remake. While the remasters looks great and fix some things, they’re largely just a cosmetic upgrade. Compare that with FF7 remake, which tweaks the actual gameplay and story, in addition to a massive upgrade to the graphics.

They should just give those games the FF7 treatment. Let me destroy them with Dual-Weilding Atmaweapons and give me a boss that’s not down in a single turn. I’m talking about you, Kaiser Dragon.

I have not played the pixel remasters, but I feel they'd look better if they adopted the same pixel art style from FF4 The Complete Collection (PSP).

If consumers voted with their wallets that the Pixel Remasters are fine, I'm not too hopeful further remasters will be any better.

My god I would love to play Xenogears again.

I’m sure I still wouldn’t understand the story but damn do I love that game!

Maybe they can redo FFXII and finish the story. That one pissed me off at the time: the story was just starting to build up steam and then nope, ignore all the plot threads we’ve been weaving, here’s a final boss battle out of the blue, end of game. Apparently it was having major schedule and budget overruns and the original director left for health reasons halfway through the project.
