I bet the troll farms still have full access

[–] cowvin@kbin.social 3 points 1 year ago (1 children)

From what I've read, the troll farms mostly operate funded by Russia but are physically located outside of Russia. For example, Macedonia had quite a few.

Fun fact: 20% of Russians do not have an indoor toilet.

That is not a joke BTW...

I feel like the 70ft woman fact is out of place. Just doesn't fit the "I guess it's technically true" vibe.

My thought is that this is so they can some kind of crippling attach on global internet infrastructure, without themselves being affected

I think it should be a bit worrying for people outside russia too. This is literal practice for a world war scenario. We can meme all you want but I don't like seeing countries crossing items in that checklist.

In Hungary, Fidesz tried to impose an internet tax. That was the last time, when the opposition actually happened to get things done.

I wonder what will happen in Russia once all those people lose their access to entertainment, communication, etc...

[–] nobodyspecial@kbin.social 1 points 1 year ago

Swan Lake is all the entertainment Lapotnaya Rus' needs. The Party will communicate everything, no need for comrades to talk to each other.

[–] AveragePigeon@kbin.social 1 points 1 year ago

[–] Candelestine@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago

[–] Thitherwards@lemmy.world 1 points 1 year ago
