In this community everyone is welcome to post links and discuss topics related to privacy.

Some Rules

Posting a link to a website containing tracking isn't great, if contents of the website are behind a paywall maybe copy them into the post
Don't promote proprietary software
Try to keep things on topic
If you have a question, please try searching for previous discussions, maybe it has already been answered
Reposts are fine, but should have at least a couple of weeks in between so that the post can reach a new audience

Is debian with hardened kernel and full disk encryption the best option for a librebooted thinkpad x200? (lemmy.ml)

I want to libreboot a thinkpad x200 and mainly use it for privacy, originally i wanted to use QubesOS but Qubes sadly doesnt support x200, and x230's are expensive in my area. So now i'm thinking debian with hardened kernel and fde. Is it the best option or should i consider some other ones?

@debi I think you're good with this setup, I don't know your threat model but it looks like more than enough for me

Debian is always a great choice 👍. Sometimes the packages are dated, but this OS is solid and easy. Go for it!
I use arch btw. Because of its rolling distribution model, bleeding edge packages and the AUR.

i also use arch (btw) on my PC but for the laptop i kinda want something that is either optimized for privacy (Qubes) or something that Just Works™. I'll probably go with debian though, thank you!
