Fred Hampton and other Marxists murdered by the American Empire might have a word on this.

Same with Native Americans and Black people, not to mention the state-sanctioned violence against Hispanic immigrants at the southern border

Sadly true as well. America is a Genocidal Settler-Colonial Empire.

And, you know, like, school children.

That violence usually is a result of failing mental health support during crumbling and dying Capitalism, not the State directly shooting kids, to be clear.

That's fair. Still seems to be quite a large reluctance to do anything about it, so it seems to "belong" through negligence though.

It's more of a consequence than a direct choice, we can waffle back and forth on how far consequences of direct decisions extend. You're largely correct though, but I wanted to draw the distinction that the American Empire is explicitly and violently anticommunist.

"Political violence is never acceptable, now let's celebrate our war for independence with massive explosions" - Americans, probably

Doesn't count as political until it's directed at white people us-foreign-policy

Unless you are a women, skin color darker than snow, LGBTQ+, non-Christian, or poor. We need to stop acting as if indirect political violence isn't done all the time in America.

Look who's talking about political violence

That was a weird sequel.

What's the rationale behind "there's no place for political violence" when we're talking about fascists?

[–] Confidant6198@lemmy.ml -2 points 5 months ago (1 children)

To keep the interest of the capitalist class intact and prevent a Revolution from happening

Ah... Well remember about that time the guillotine was invented? Yeah..
