I want to draw some fediverse mascots and the only few I've seen unnamed are Lemmy's and Mastodon's. If the name is Lemmy, I'll be okay with that too. Anyone know either of their names?

Also, it's a mouse, right? Or another rodent?

I will point you to the Lemmy project documentation, where it is explained in a Why's it called Lemmy? section (the last bullet point). It is indeed a lemming, as mentioned here already. However, I do not think I have ever seen a specific name for a mascot mentioned. That would be an interesting idea, though. Good luck.

Idk about the name although Lemmy sounds appropriate. I also don't know the species of the mascot, bjt it being a lemur sounds appropriate too.

In popular culture, a longstanding myth holds that they jump off cliffs and commit mass suicide.

The "Misconceptions" section also has some interesting bits.

Another myth may have roots in the fiercely aggressive nature of lemmings during population booms, and the corresponding leftovers of predatory frenzies: lemmings do not explode.

lemurs are more fun though

If you want to see one of its unique character features search for videos using the term "lemming confronts"
