If you have matrix you can bridge a discord channel to matrix. I did some testing a year ago but I can't remember which one of these I used:
If it is a CLIENT, why would it be related to self-hosting?
Personally, I like the Slidge gateway for XMPP that allows you to connect to many services including Discord from a self-hosted XMPP server.
It's not self-hosting really, but Ripcord exists as an alternate client. It's very resource light, but I find it kinda janky.
