Source: Ukrainian Pravda

Might as well cite Russia Today given how useful that source is

[–] Kusimulkku@lemm.ee 7 points 5 months ago (1 children)

Do people call out Russia Today here?

I don't think the mods care lol

They also allow statements from the US State Department, so I think they're just of the opinion that state-funded/state-biased media provides a useful perspective and users should be able to pick that apart when necessary.

that source

this website is fucking völkischer beobachter-level shitrag. op is either a fed, a fascist or both. furthermore such headlines, if coming from the banderist kievan regime are absolutely always projection. ukronazi units like the tornado battalion have been systematically raping and murdering children since 2014 and the only way they can be brought to justice is through full denazification.

Reporter: [REDACTED]
Reason: Russian propaganda and calls for violence.

*Rolls eyes*

op is either a fed, a fascist or both.

On first impression, OP seems to be a “patriotic” kkkanada and a mod for !ukraine@sopuli.xyz where “sympathy for enemy combatants in any form is prohibited.

looks like its "both" then.

IDF soldiers are beheading children by the dozen and we're supposed to care that a soldier - who presumably knew what he was getting into - was killed in a slightly unusual but likely more humane way than dying slowly of an infected shrapnel wound?

Trying to portray beheading an incapacitated enemy, a war crime, as a humane act. Amazing

Sometimes I wonder if my instance will defederate from lemmygrad, I have hope.

[–] yogthos@lemmy.ml 8 points 5 months ago

I think this might be the instance for you https://www.reddit.com/

It's because worse is happening elsewhere that we should not be concerned by such news.

[–] RippleEffect@lemm.ee -4 points 5 months ago (1 children)

Yes. We should care. Russia is the aggressor here. They deserve to at least be condemned.

I'm not saying Ukraine is perfect and I'm sure my world view is altered by propaganda in some way, but at its base, Russia invaded Ukraine and if Russia is committing war crimes, they should not be supported.

If Russia had never invaded, that soldier could instead be at home with family or friends, alive.

Do you know what the Minsk Agreements are

[–] RippleEffect@lemm.ee 2 points 5 months ago

Yes. I'm aware that this conflict is technically over a decade long and there's huge amounts of propaganda from both sides trying to portray themselves and the hero/victim.

I am certainly always open to learning more than I have access to though.
