My goal is just to have a community where people can go and see what new game news is out for the day and comment on it.
Other communities:
The most creative people in the industry are moving to independent studios. Big publishers are gonna milk every IP they can to make up for all the failed live service games.
The game is only currently playable on ps3/x360. Makes sense to at least port it to newer platforms. Emulation is rarely an ideal or stable solution.
And remake it again for the following generation?
Emulation is becoming way way more stable and versatile way to play older games on computers of varying strengths.
Native ports, when done well, are just better man. It can make better use of resources and runs in a well supported ecosystem. Emulators are great but not ideal for experiencing games. It also puts a wall up for people to access games. The more people that can play the game the better.
I can run a multitude of games off my old laptop thanks to emulation. Emulators give games a much longer lifespan and are much more accessible.
Sony is literally selling games with an emulator. Go look at Sly Cooper on the ps5. Emulators are more than adequate.
All this does is put another payment into the publishers pocket.
Letting people who only have modern consoles and don't know how to work computers properly play a game sounds like a good thing to me. Also additional QoL changes can fully transform a game from a tedious mess to actually playable and fun. That's the best part about a remake. You don't have to buy it if you don't want it :)
Sly Cooper on the ps5 is emulated, not a native port. I've played some of the emulated Sony games on ps4 and they do not run very well, because the ps4 has to run an emulator and the game, instead of just running natively.
This game emulated very well doing 4k/120 during my play through on rpcs3.
I played this through rpcs3 at 4k/120 and was a flawless experience from beginning to end. Artstyle held up well with the cartoony look they went with.
