I wonder if people back in the 80s and in their 40s would say these things. I don't think most of them even thought about it and just enjoyed life.

Probably one of the greatest marketing campaigns in pop music.

Promoting your work by trolling the religious right to highlight your persona as much and as often as possible.

This was a big deal when it came out in 1989 and the for the first two or three years after. Trolling the Christian religious heritage and racism in America was a great way to get everyone talking about the album and the artist.

Madonna was a genius because she gained many things out of one piece of work ... highlighting racism and inequality ... pointing out the hypocrisy of Christians ... and making money out of all while she was doing it.

I don't like what she has become .. but at the height of her career in the late 80s and early 90s .. she really moved the world.
