Links must be to the original source, not an aggregator like Google Amp, MSN, or Yahoo.

Example:

  1. Articles must be relevant to politics. Links must be to quality and original content. Articles should be worth reading. Clickbait, stub articles, and rehosted or stolen content are not allowed. Check your source for Reliability and Bias here.
  2. Be civil, No violations of TOS. It’s OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It’s NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). Strong language is fine, just not directed at other members. Engage in good-faith and with respect! This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. 3. No memes, trolling, or low-effort comments. Reposts, misinformation, off-topic, trolling, or offensive. Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. Going forward, slapfights will result in removed comments and temp bans to cool off.
  4. Vote based on comment quality, not agreement. This community aims to foster discussion; please reward people for putting effort into articulating their viewpoint, even if you disagree with it.
  5. No hate speech, slurs, celebrating death, advocating violence, or abusive language. This will result in a ban. Usernames containing racist, or inappropriate slurs will be banned without warning

All posts and comments will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. This means that some content that violates the rules may be allowed, while other content that does not violate the rules may be removed. The moderators retain the right to remove any content and ban users.

That's all the rules!

Young was one of the few Republicans trying to subdue the insurrection on Jan 6, arguing with the traitors outside the Capitol.

As someone from Indiana, Todd Young still fucking sucks - just not in the insurrection way.

True.

But he's still an asshole Republican who I totally expected to fall in line with the rest.

Of course, we've also got Mike Braun here in Indiana to kiss Trump's ass until he inevitably gets elected governor.

He has not at this point yet fallen in line, however. I believe in giving credit where it's due, and however low the bar he has passed, he has in fact passed a bar that most of his colleagues stumble on. I have high hopes for this guy. I'm by no means a republican, but I'd like to have a political opponent who doesn't outright disgust me with blatant disregard for sanity, law or truth. This man is attempting to move people in the correct direction, currently speaking. We will see what the future holds for him.

He politicked against the ACA's effectiveness. He is against women controlling their bodies. He is pro NRA. Opposes DREAM act. Gay marriage is a "state's decision".

On May 28, 2021, Young voted against creating an independent commission to investigate the 2021 United States Capitol attack.

That said he has a great set of education credentials and interacted with large chunks of the world as both military and civil servant.

Oh, I want suggesting he was good. Just that he did the bare minimum during a literal insurrection.

Who would've thought, believing in democracy and law to be the bare minimum for being a president.

“The Former Guy”, it’s a thing Biden said one time during a presser and it took off to meme status very quickly after.

This is from May of 2023. He could still flip to support Trump.
