One of my favorite YouTubers that does a ton of drinks from games and movies has a series called "Cursed Cocktails" where he makes and tried this. It's really entertaining.

Here is an alternative Piped link(s):

This was hilarious! Thanks!

Maybe I'm crazy, but I feel like I wouldn't mind Beef Fizz too much. You just have to think about it like a soup. Why is soup not gross but beef fizz is? Dunno.

Me and my buddy really want to try it. It can't be as bad as the smoker's cough.

[–] dingus@lemmy.world 3 points 9 months ago (1 children)

The smoker's cough was definitely concocted by someone particularly evil lol

[–] tpyo@lemmy.world 1 points 9 months ago (1 children)

When I first heard him say the ingredients, my mind thought of molasses and I was like "well that sounds delicious". I realized my cognitive error shortly thereafter

[–] tpyo@lemmy.world 1 points 9 months ago

I wonder if you could find low sodium condensed broth; I imagine that would alleviate a lot of the unpleasantness. Because otherwise I also was pretty curious about the actual taste of the beverage

[–] TheSilverShroud@sh.itjust.works 2 points 9 months ago

All hail Greg, patron saint of cocktails! His Manhattan matrix episode was so wild I still think about it periodically.

[–] imPastaSyndrome@lemm.ee 28 points 9 months ago

That lemon cherry cooler innovation though!!

Mixing two different flavors of packaged flavoring?? Beth you tricky skank!

[–] Taniwha420@lemmy.world 20 points 9 months ago (2 children)

I asked my 8 year old what he thought of this recipe and he replied, "That's disgusting and whoever invented it should be executed immediately."

[–] gennygameshark@lemmy.world 4 points 9 months ago

Your eight year old has good instincts.

[–] MacNCheezus@lemmy.today 4 points 9 months ago (1 children)

…by drinking this concoction until death

[–] niktemadur@lemmy.world 1 points 9 months ago

...but not before God has mercy on his/her soul

[–] grue@lemmy.world 20 points 9 months ago (1 children)

I wonder if that's like a trap street on a map or a fake number in a phone book, where they add it to what is otherwise just a list of recipes in order to give it a "creative" element and make it copyrightable.

[–] FlyingSquid@lemmy.world 9 points 9 months ago

Apparently not.

See about 2/3 of the way down this page: https://blog.newspapers.com/quench-your-thirst-root-beer-float-day/

This is the worst abomination I've seen since "Ohio-Valley" style pizza

[–] AtmaJnana@lemmy.world 13 points 9 months ago* (last edited 9 months ago) (4 children)

That's funny to me, since I have spent decades in the Ohio Valley and have never heard of us having a style of pizza. Unless "barely edible" is a style.

edit: Oh, I remember this. Never seen it in the wild, though. After asking around, a friend tells me there's a place nearby that does sell pizza this way. (I'm still not trying it because I dont hate my tastebuds that much.)

[–] dlpkl@lemmy.world 3 points 9 months ago

What's sweet tomato sauce? Do they mean ketchup?

[–] SirSamuel@lemmy.world 3 points 9 months ago

I'm an Ohio native and learned about it in a thread a few days ago. I mean, I thought our school pizza was bad

[–] dingus@lemmy.world 3 points 9 months ago* (last edited 9 months ago)

This is everything I hate in a pizza. I had sauce that is way too sweet and I hate cold pizza.

[–] garbagebagel@lemmy.world 1 points 9 months ago

That doesn't sound nearly as bad as y'all made it seem like though. I went in fully expecting an abomination and all I got was a poorly cooked pizza.

[–] overzeetop@lemmy.world 12 points 9 months ago

The best part is that it makes enough for friends to share.

[–] Decoy321@lemmy.world 7 points 9 months ago

What the fuck

[–] testfactor@lemmy.world 6 points 9 months ago (1 children)

Welcome to the "Beef and Dairy Network Podcast.". This week, we'll hear from Mavis of South Hampton, the inventor of that most popular drink, beef fizz.

[–] atomicorange@lemmy.world 1 points 9 months ago

Mmmm fizzy beef wine!

[–] tacosanonymous@lemm.ee 6 points 9 months ago (2 children)

Savory drinks are definitely a choice.

[–] FlyingSquid@lemmy.world 2 points 9 months ago (2 children)

I like a nice bloody Mary, but this is insanity.

[–] Fiivemacs@lemmy.ca 5 points 9 months ago (2 children)

I drank duck gravy the other day. No shame.

[–] funkless_eck@sh.itjust.works 3 points 9 months ago (1 children)

Bovril is another classic British staple that hasn't made a mark internationally.

Its like tea! But meat!

[–] Tetractys@lemmy.world 2 points 9 months ago (1 children)
[–] tpyo@lemmy.world 2 points 9 months ago (1 children)

I haven't heard of either of those, but I absolutely put some better than boullion in a mug with boiling water to drink. Sometimes I dip toast in it, or a grilled cheese

[–] Tetractys@lemmy.world 2 points 9 months ago

Yum, never heard of it.

[–] Tetractys@lemmy.world 1 points 9 months ago
[–] Tetractys@lemmy.world 2 points 9 months ago

Give it a go before a hard days work and report back.

[–] Tetractys@lemmy.world -1 points 9 months ago* (last edited 9 months ago) (1 children)

Agree, who'd a thought beef, ginger and acidity would work together (billions in asia!?). I'm assuming most people here are american and addicted to refined sugars and syrups. Clearly not worked a hard day in the cold either. This brew would get you and metabolism going.

[–] shuzuko@midwest.social 3 points 9 months ago (2 children)

It's the carbonated aspect that makes it so bad, I think. Carbonated ginger? Sure! Carbonated beef broth? I'll pass. No thank you. That sounds disturbing.

[–] ArcaneSlime@lemmy.dbzer0.com 0 points 9 months ago

Tbf idk that I'd want a nice refreshing cup of beef broth be it carbonated or flat. I like drinking beef broth...when eating soup not in place of lemonade or tea. The sheer insanity!

[–] Tylerdurdon@lemmy.world 4 points 9 months ago

Mmmmm...beefy

[–] olebla@feddit.de 4 points 9 months ago

Don't tell the "carnivore diet" folks...

[–] Tetractys@lemmy.world 3 points 9 months ago
[–] tygerprints@kbin.social 2 points 9 months ago (1 children)

Beef Fizz?? I think I'll take my steak in a blender with some Dr. Pepper added.

[–] FlyingSquid@lemmy.world 1 points 9 months ago (1 children)

Be sure to strain out the chunks and save them for later.

[–] tygerprints@kbin.social -1 points 9 months ago

Always save the beef chunks for later. They're great in a late night cocktail.

[–] HootinNHollerin@lemmy.world 2 points 9 months ago* (last edited 9 months ago) (1 children)

Where’s the alcohol? Is this just mixer? Who just drinks mixer? -Charlie Kelly

[–] RGB3x3@lemmy.world 3 points 9 months ago

People who drink sodas? And juice? And for mocktails?
