Someone has a fundamental misunderstanding about what a room is...

virgin "outdooor hotel" fan vs chad homelessness enjoyer

[–] MacNCheezus@lemmy.today 1 points 7 months ago

Man, you gotta be a true chad in order to enjoy homelessness

[–] son_named_bort@lemmy.world 9 points 7 months ago

That doesn't seem unworkable. Just add a few walls and a roof and it would be a nice place to stay.

[–] j_roby@slrpnk.net 8 points 7 months ago (1 children)

Headline reads: Millennials ruining the wall industry

[–] MacNCheezus@lemmy.today 4 points 7 months ago (1 children)

What happens next will SHOCK you

[–] Bene7rddso@feddit.de 3 points 7 months ago

A lightning strike?

[–] MrFunnyMoustache@lemmy.ml 7 points 7 months ago (1 children)

I thought it was the onion, but I searched and found it... $340 a night.

Had to double check the date to make sure I wasn't in a 2 month long coma and that it wasn't April fools.

[–] dejected_warp_core@lemmy.world 6 points 7 months ago

Anything "glamping" or related is full of unhinged rates for stuff. Don't ask me why.

[–] gmtom@lemmy.world 6 points 7 months ago (3 children)

Am I the only one that would actually really enjoy this?

Being outside in the mountains with fresh cool air, but you actually have a proper, comfy warm bed to enjoy as well?

Sign me the fuck up.

Until it rains... or storms... or there is thunder or snails or dogs barking or whatever. Hell no "-"

[–] pingveno@lemmy.ml 2 points 7 months ago

Or something poops on your face.

[–] gmtom@lemmy.world 1 points 7 months ago

I would have to imagine they have something in place for when it rains, thunder (without rain) would be awesome, you're in the mountains with few neighbours so wouldn't worry about dogs barking, and if you're worried about snails you could put some salt down I guess.

[–] MacNCheezus@lemmy.today 1 points 7 months ago (2 children)

You know, there's this thing called "camping", you should really look into it.

[–] gmtom@lemmy.world 3 points 7 months ago (1 children)

Sure let me just bring my whole-ass double bed and mattress with me when I go camping 🤡

[–] jpreston2005@lemmy.world 2 points 7 months ago (1 children)

shit I have a pair of inflatable twin mattresses that can be joined together. open up my sleeping bag, put it down as base warmth, with a pillow and another cozy blanket... That pretty much meets the definition

I would but only if the temperature is right. That picture looks like it drops below freezing tho.

[–] Sibbo@sopuli.xyz 5 points 7 months ago (1 children)

Did you know that the weather in the mountains can change rapidly and without warnings?

[–] MacNCheezus@lemmy.today 4 points 7 months ago

Sorry, tarps and scaffolding is extra.

This would only be cool if you're somehow guaranteed zero people/predators or cameras in a large enough radius that you won't ever be seen or attacked by an animal. Fucking under the stars on a real bed sounds pretty cool. But there is a building in the background. I would be too paranoid that someone is watching with a telescope

[–] TimeSquirrel@kbin.social 2 points 7 months ago

I would be too paranoid that someone is watching with a telescope

I'd just start beating off while staring straight at it with an expressionless face.

[–] baatliwala@lemmy.world 2 points 7 months ago

Forget zero people/predators, I need a guarantee for zero mosquitoes and flies

Good luck in the rain!

Have we seriously forgotten how shelter works?

[–] MacNCheezus@lemmy.today 2 points 7 months ago (1 children)

Pfft, shelter? That's for poor people!

[–] tubaruco@lemm.ee 4 points 7 months ago

houses? thats for homeless pe-

wait, something feels wrong

Not even rain.

If you sleep outside you'll wake up wet and dewy and gross.

[–] AeonFelis@lemmy.world 3 points 7 months ago

Too many wind-blowable things in that "room".

[–] Plavatos@sh.itjust.works 2 points 7 months ago (2 children)

Wild predators are one thing but what about bats with rabies? You wouldn't even know you got bit until it's too late.

[–] Honytawk@lemmy.zip 6 points 7 months ago

I'd be more worried about the weather.

[–] MacNCheezus@lemmy.today 1 points 7 months ago* (last edited 7 months ago)

Rabies has basically been eliminated in Switzerland so that won't be an issue.

[–] Neato@ttrpg.network 2 points 7 months ago (3 children)

That's camping with all the shitty parts and a really nice cot.

Wind, rain, dust, falling shit, bugs, animals, etc. You can get a similar atmosphere by having a tent and opening the vent flaps. Or like, sleeping under a tarp to mitigate rain if you really want that outdoorsy feel. I knew a guy who slept in a hammock on nice nights but I fear the skeeters.

[–] MacNCheezus@lemmy.today 1 points 7 months ago

That is indeed the joke.
