If you haven't caused an unexpected outage in production, can you really call yourself an admin?
It would be really nice if you did that next time. Maybe sticky that announcement a few days in advance?

I will watch the situation if any further rescaling is needed and if I get reports of poor performance. I will not rule out donations in the near future.
Just curious, how much do you pay for your VPS?
It's ~12 € now (current VPS + extra space) so it's still mere pocket change.

I hope some of the optimization code for lemmy comes through soon to lower the load on instances.
If one looks at Lemmy's issue tracker on GitHub, there is plenty to optimize, even though it's lightweight now. I chose this small upgrade with the upcoming major release in mind.
