Any news on why this is happening with this instance ? it might be harder to check if upvotes and downvotes federate to the outside lemmyverse .

other instances seem to federate better.

Don't the instance owners use it ?

I noticed the same thing. There is an open issue on the Lemmy backend GitHub about broken federation in the 0.19 release here

Some instances are running older 0.18 versions which don't seem to be affected. Restarting the processes every few hours might help.

The issue comments mention a workaround of just restarting Lemmy every few hours.

Which I doubt sunaurus is aware of

[–] scytale@lemm.ee 8 points 10 months ago

I’ve been aware of this since the upgrade, but I’m wondering what the instance admin (sunaurus) plans to do about it. Are we just gonna wait until a fix is released by the devs? I don’t think downgrading/reverting to 0.18 is possible right?

Noticed this too. You should try typing the url of your Lemm.ee comment into the search bar of the instance you are trying to post to, it works... sometimes.

Test

Edit: alright, I can see it. Yeah, I've noticed since the 0.19 update I haven't been able to comment to other instances at all. Plus those ridiculous loading times

I think this instance is dead, the last communication to most other instances happened on 22/12 so almost ten days ago and no message from any admin.

Unfortunately I think it's time to jump to another instance

[–] GoodEye8@lemm.ee 3 points 10 months ago (1 children)

Did you really just have an "instance is dead because the admin hasn't communicated since the holidays began" take? Maybe have a bit of patience, some people have lives outside of Lemmy.

Or if this is such a dealbreaker maybe you should jump to another instance.

Did you really just have an "I choose what people can or cannot be frustrated with, because I'm a super condescending person" take?

I would make a proper reply, but people who cannot get into conversation without any passive aggressive comment should not make other loose their time

[–] GoodEye8@lemm.ee 3 points 10 months ago

I hope the irony of your passive aggressiveness is not lost on you.

And I wasn't expecting a response because there's no reasonable response you could give beyond acknowledging you're self-centered. It's ridiculous to expect someone doing this out of their own free time to be on call during holiday season. And it's borderline hyperbolic to call something dead simply because a person hasn't responded during the holidays. Any response you could've given would've made you look like a bigger douche (this one included).

The idea was for you to have some introspection by pointing out how your comment came across and why it's stupid. If it came across as condescending that's only circumstantial.

I'm afraid of this too. Does lemmy support transferring an account to a new instance?
