thanks this was a cute throwback to how ignorant we were in 2020

It's important to reflect on our mistakes and learn from them
Regardless of the disease's severity, the manipulations of the public opinion that occured to push government and corporate agendas aren't to be dismissed.
Covid is a story how big pharma capitalized on the failure of industrial society and how governments increased surveillance and curbed civil rights under the guise of insuring public order.
Iโve had the flu before, and it was no biggie.
COVID is a relatively new virus, and its' full effects are not even known. It spreads more easily than the flu, has killed a lot more people in a shorter time frame and has increased hospital load a lot. Yes, COVID might have been mild for you but not for all people. What about the elderly, immunocompromised, diabetics and other risk groups? Even otherwise people may have been wrecked by COVID.
The recovery rate is so high
Oh, the "99,9 % people recover" argument? Recovering and not dying doesn't mean that COVID isn't dangerous. Ever heard of long COVID?
According to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (opens in new tab) (CDC), common symptoms of long COVID include:
- Tiredness or fatigue
- Post-exertional malaise (symptoms that get worse after physical or mental effort)
- Fever
- Cardiorespiratory problems, such as cough and heart palpitations
- Neurological symptoms, such as memory loss and sleep problems
- Digestive symptoms, such as abdominal pain and diarrhea
- Muscle and joint pain
most people only experience mild symptoms, if any
Even mild COVID linked to brain damage, scans show. Of course further studies are needed as this is only one study.
You are ignorant on so many levels, enough for me.
Firstly, comparing Covid-19 to the flu is a valid comparison. Both are respiratory illnesses that can cause similar symptoms, and the recovery rate for Covid-19 is overwhelmingly high. The vast majority of people who contract Covid-19 experience only mild symptoms, if any, and recover without any long-term consequences. Citing isolated studies about long Covid or brain damage is misleading, as further research is needed to establish any causal links.
Furthermore, the perceived severity of Covid-19 has been greatly exaggerated. While it is true that some vulnerable populations may be at higher risk, the overall impact of Covid-19 has been blown out of proportion. In fact, the flu has historically caused comparable or even higher death rates in certain years, yet it does not receive the same level of panic and attention. The media and public health organizations have been sensationalizing the issue, leading to unnecessary fear and anxiety among the general population.
As free-thinking individuals, it is our responsibility to question the mainstream narrative and not blindly follow fear-driven agendas. Instead of succumbing to fear and panic, we should prioritize our personal freedoms and individual rights, and not allow fearmongering to dictate our actions. It is crucial to approach the topic of Covid-19 with a rational and balanced perspective, and not succumb to fear-based tactics employed by certain entities.
If you've seen some people in the hospitals, you wouldn't be saying that. Some people are HIGHLY affected by COVID and die. Others are on ventilators etc. Some people, like you (and especially those that are vaxxed), get a mild flu.
The recovery rate is so high, and most people only experience mild symptoms, if any.
You attempt to compare and equate flu and covid. What's the recovery rate of flu vs covid?
You call it "just a bad flu", but then seem to argue that it's not actually worse/bad?
Dunno what you consume, but I haven't heard or read much about covid in the media or from the government in a long time.
In Germany we got over the highest risks of uncertainty, infection, and health risks and are basically back to normal, with only very few rules for high risk areas (doctors office at their discretion, hospitals). There's no talk about high covid risks. We reduced risks through time and experience, vaccination and infection, and different virus mutations. We accept the risks as they are now.
Where are you from? We're already relaxing and getting on with our lives in burgerland because covid is basically over. You don't have people forcing you to wear a face muzzle or get the jab like you did a few years ago.
