No, I do not watch football.

I don't follow sports at all.

No, it's built on top of corruption and human rights violations. The conservative estimate is that 6,500 people have died to make the WC happen - The higher estimates say 15-20,000.

64 matches in the WC. A rough estimate including overtime is around 100 minutes average per game. 6,500/64=101.56. Average 100 minutes per match / Average deaths per match=

1.01 deaths per minute of soccer played.

It seems to me that anybody watching and enjoying the WC have some serious problems with their ethical faculties and a severe lack of empathy. It seems sociopathic to enjoy this WC.

Most have no idea. The people with issues are capitalists, government, soccer teams, ...

Everyone involved is partially responsible. This goes for everything, and I feel my small part of responsibility for our state media paying for WC licences despite me being very against it.

That's because you have enough information. Most watching do not; and they are not the ones who decide to fund it. If people could directly choose in a transparent way what to do with their taxes, do you think most would actively and authentically choose to fund it?

No. Even if it weren't for the whole Qatar kerfuffle, I still wouldn't watch it, because I find watching soccer dreadfully boring.

No (I do not consume anything sports unless it is for learning purposes). I like playing soccer though

I don't like sports in general, but the result of the world cup has political impacts in my country, that I hope to be positive. We currently have a fascist head of government who has just lost the reelection attempt for next year, and there are far right people on the streets right now crying fraud and literaly asking for a military coup. The same people happen to be very nationalistic and world cup is all about that sentiment. So I do believe that if we perform well at least for a while, people will get happy and distracted. They might even come to their senses and realize the country is headed to a better path now, and leave fascism behind.

In general, I watch the very last couple of games because that's usually when lots of people around me are excited about it and watching it.

With this year's one, I'm so grossed out by its ecological and social insanity that I don't really want to.

Yes, it’s fun to root for countries like Iran and Ghana against the more established teams in Europe and South America. MSM is just focusing on criticizing Qatar because they’re oriental or whatever and wouldn’t do the same to any other host. Qatar sucks, but it’s no worse than most countries that have hosted the WC. Fascist Italy hosted, Chile and Mexico were killing leftists when they hosted, do I even have to start with the US or Canada? However, it doesn’t get any better or worse whether I “boycott” it or not, so might as well have some fun watching it.
