I don’t think we’ve ever decided on an Upvote nomenclature so I suggest Splomfs. You’re welcome to call em whachu like.

“Lem” is often used as an onomatopoeia for licking. Do with that information what you will.

Please don't bring the Waco's to this community. I just want normal memes
If you want communism go to lemmy.ml
Calling capitalism bad isn't equal to calling communism good.
I see this all the time. People think the opposite of capitalism is communism, which is plain wrong. They are completely different systems, but many parts are similar. If you say "I don't wanna do capitalism anymore" it's not like you are forced to be a communist now.
I really don't think there is a middle ground
Social democracy is pretty much the exact middle ground
Capitalism is not a middle ground between communism and capitalism
Socialism isn’t a middle ground between socialism and capitalism
Indeed. There isn't a middle ground
There is a middle ground, but nobody wants to admit it because we love disagreeing
It is literally impossible.
Capitalism: private ownership of means of production.
Example: a business owned by an individual, who employs people to work for the owner's benefit, while the workers get a small paycheck in return.
Socialism: social ownership of means of production.
Example: a business owned by the people who work there, with no private owner or anyone at all above them; workers share the profits generated by the business and manage it collectively.
These economic models are diametrically opposed. It is not possible to have both. It would be like trying to be both short and tall.
I guess you could make that argument. I personally am more politically conservative so I can't really give a unbiased option.
Only someone not affected by that could say something like that...
