This community is for posts about Marxism and geopolitics (including shitposts to some extent). Serious posts can be posted here or in /c/GenZhou. Reactionary or ultra-leftist cringe posts belong in /c/shitreactionariessay or /c/shitultrassay respectively.

Where was their support for Eastern Ukrainians against government-backed neo-Nazis in the eight years before the Russian invasion?

Actually there was a small amount of support that ultimately got crushed: The Nation, 2016: Congress Has Removed a Ban on Funding Neo-Nazis From Its Year-End Spending Bill

And so, in July of last year, Congressmen John Conyers of Michigan and Ted Yoho of Florida drew up an amendment to the House Defense Appropriations bill (HR 2685) that “limits arms, training, and other assistance to the neo-Nazi Ukrainian militia, the Azov Battalion.” It passed by a unanimous vote in the House.

Are you referring to the Azov or the Rusich Group? There were a lot of paramilitary neonazi groups active in eastern Ukraine in 2014.

All of them, I’m guessing

Depends, one of them is fighting for Ukraine and the other for Russia.

It's honestly astounding how subconsciously the selective nature of liberal thinking is. They don't even seem to be aware that they're dismissing and accepting narratives when presented with evidence vs. anecdote. What do videos of Israel flattening Gaza matter compared to some Israelis saying they saw Hamas kill babies? I'm honestly not even surprised liberals and Western "leftists" take the stances they do, anymore: they'll always act in the interest of Western capitalists and just cherry pick narratives to justify it, morally.
