[–] tdawg@lemmy.world 7 points 11 months ago

No it's okay. Being relatable is better

Anytime stuff like this happens I try to reverse engineer the primal human benefit to the urge... but honestly I'm at a loss on this one

[–] coconutking@lemmy.world 3 points 11 months ago

Is it because, ass?

[–] x4740N@lemmy.world 1 points 11 months ago (1 children)

Curiosity + Dopamine

I don't think it's actually a primal human urge but something that a few humans did and it spread through meme culture

[–] andrew@lemmy.stuart.fun 1 points 11 months ago

Ah yes but have got considered that curiosity killed the cat?

dads everywhere agree: click those tongs and slap those bags

[–] son_named_bort@lemmy.world 15 points 11 months ago (1 children)

I knew a guy who forgot to click the tongs once. His grill caught on fire.

[–] Kase@lemmy.world 2 points 11 months ago

they're usually sitting out in the open collecting water and each time I slapped them, some water would get ont my hands and sometimes even clothes etc. wouldn't recommend unless you want to be soaked in brown stinky water

To me this is the only one. I only touch dirt with gloves and/or plain bar soap crammed under my nails.

[–] RIP_Cheems@lemmy.world 5 points 11 months ago

Packaged meats in the grocery store. Those chicken thighs make such a satisfying smack sound.

[–] ElBarto@sh.itjust.works 4 points 11 months ago (1 children)

I work in the meat department and I slap every whole chicken and roasts, I feel it gives them the confidence to be a good meal.
