Our house, even if it was built in the 90's and is currently role playing as a money pit.

Please learn to do repairs and improvement yourself. It's very rewarding and saves tens of thousands of dollars. Since I bought a house I've learned so much about plumbing, electricity, roofing, and everything.

There's so much DIY information out there that there's no reason not to.

I haven't bought much, but I did invest in a Flydigi Vader 3 Pro. It's a controller with Hall Effect sticks so they'll never drift, mechanical clicky buttons, four customizable back and two front buttons. I got fed up with the sticks going bad on my Dualshocks. It's a bit early yet, but it works great so far. The software isn't even that bad considering I was prepared for it to be terrible given the reviews. I used it precisely once to set up my buttons and make sure it had the latest firmware and haven't booted it up since. It cost a tiny bit more than a Dualsense here in Korea. Which is insane for the amount of features. My latest Dualsense, the left stick went bad after a year of light use. Screw every controller manufacturer using shit analog sticks these days. Looking at you Nintendo and Sony in particular.

A used rtx 3070 so I can play apex terribly and ignore my ever increasing backlog in smoother graphics.

Tears of the Kingdom baby, I haven't even started the story yet and I've been enjoying the game since May!

King size heating blanket. Wrap myself up like a burrito after work and I'm in heaven. Just wish I'd done it sooner, my last place didn't keep heat in well, but I felt like spending $100~ on a blanket was crazy and was stacking multiple cheap ones to not freeze in my own home.

Elegoo Neptune 4 Pro 3d printer. The printer goes pretty fast and it's nice to have a device to create anything you want. I've made stuff like containers and organizers, eyeglass cases, toys, cable organizers, protector for my wall outlet, and more ideas still on the way.

Kagi search subscription, absolutely

I sometimes think about this but I very rarely search for things. I do sometimes search using duckduckgo.com whatever, by appending "site:reddit" to the query, but even that happens very rarely. And now with chatGPT, no more coding related searches.

What are you guys searching that you require a premium provider?

Anything that happened after 2021.

A decent camera. Specifically a LUMIX GX9, it’s about the best compromise between portability, versatility, price and quality that I could find, and it’s really become a part of my daily life.

Samsung Galaxy s21 Ultra. It's just fast. A joy to use. I had been using a $200 phone from another manufacturer.

Bought it refurb from Amazon for a little over $400.

The phone is such an important part of my life. It pays to spend a little extra.

A new desk chair. I can finally lean back and change the height now. My old one I had for 6 years couldn't lean back and the adjustable height was only a 3" difference (wtf).

A portable car jumper. The one I got is called a Halo, and it's aptly named and works like a charm. No need to hope someone around me has jumper cables or will let me use their car to jump mine.

How often does your car go flat bro?
