Rip paywall. Sadly I cannot read the article.

I have tried Outline and it doesn't seem to work to bypass the paywall either :S

Big tech are the new big tobacco. Not that big tobacco is gone or anything. But they know the deleterious effects of their products more than anyone else and always try to cover up to protect their profit margins.

When asked if the company had studied the app’s effects on children, he said, “I believe the answer is yes.”

What a scumbag. This makes it clear they devoted significant resources to studying it for years and knew the harm it was doing.

Aha, i think Pixelfed would be better alternative for insta.

[–] joojmachine@lemmy.ml 6 points 3 years ago (1 children)

tbh I see Pixelfed being much more akin to what Instagram was in its early days, being more focused on being a platform for photographers (in a more professional way).

but the more popular the fediverse gets the better, honestly

Everyone already knew that. Right? Like this isn't really new to anyone. It would be a lot more interesting if it showed that they were designing it in a way to make it worse.

It proves they know it, which doesn't help in any way except to know capitalism is shit.

Instagram is toxic period.

Meta is cancer, don't let it metastasize!
