Shut up! I am young! I am young!

You're old not me! You are the one who's 30! Or 40!

Grandpa!

[–] AOCapitulator@hexbear.net 6 points 1 year ago (1 children)

You're 2.432902e+18 years old?

[–] Shinhoshi@lemmygrad.ml 4 points 1 year ago (1 children)

They are, but OP is allegedly at least 265252859812191058636308480000000

If you play your kids some music from 2000, It’s like your mom playing you her 80s tracks

That’s terrifying

[–] Palerider@feddit.uk 11 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

I'm 51. Me playing 80s music to my youngest daughter (17) would be like my parents playing 40s music to me when I was her age.

We're all going to be old geezers. Hope people will still be shitposting even then.

[–] samus12345@lemmy.world 10 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Shitposting will never die until humanity does. Wonder what the last shitpost ever made will be?

[–] GreenMario@lemm.ee 5 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Assuming our end is a meteor hit.

[–] REEEEvolution@lemmygrad.ml 3 points 1 year ago

Yeah, that's pretty good.

Alternatively:

Sun becomes Red Giant. Earth: I'm so hot right now.

This does not feel so terrible until you remember that 2006 was the year in which the Star Wars Kid and Afro Ninja videos were uploaded to YouTube.

[–] REEEEvolution@lemmygrad.ml 5 points 1 year ago

It however feels kinda nice to have known a time before the internet and mobile phones.

[–] PaulSmackage@hexbear.net 4 points 1 year ago

Star wars kid was 2003 and god do i feel old

[–] MinekPo1@lemmygrad.ml 16 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago) (1 children)

No, 2040 is 17 years away while 2006 is 18446744073709551599 years away.

Edit: was off by 4 years due to a small mistake in mental math.

[–] Shinhoshi@lemmygrad.ml 7 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Are you with the Russians or a fellow CPC bot? No human could mentally do (uint64_t)(2006 - 2023) and get the right answer.

[–] MinekPo1@lemmygrad.ml 5 points 1 year ago (1 children)

that's the neet part: I didn't get the right answer at first (it was because I made a mistake in 2023-2006 but shhh)

[–] Shinhoshi@lemmygrad.ml 4 points 1 year ago

Yes, you had already edited your comment, because I did check your answer, but you said β€œmental math” in the edit (^_-)

[–] QueerCommie@lemmygrad.ml 12 points 1 year ago (5 children)

Joke’s on you, I was born after 2006, so it also seems long ago.

[–] ProxyTheAwesome@hexbear.net 14 points 1 year ago (1 children)

i always forget there are little babies on the internet

[–] ComradeSalad@lemmygrad.ml 2 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago) (1 children)

The average age of an internet user is 15 years old per the 2020 census.

[–] QueerCommie@lemmygrad.ml 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Average? There’s no way! People of all ages are mostly on the internet to some extent.

[–] ComradeSalad@lemmygrad.ml 2 points 1 year ago

Yes, there are people of all ages on the internet, but the demographic is demonstrably weighted towards the younger generations of 11-24

[–] Elara@lemmygrad.ml 6 points 1 year ago

I was born in 2005 but I have no memory of 2006 so same for me lol

[–] ComradeSalad@lemmygrad.ml 3 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

People born in 2003 are having children already, they’ve entered the workforce, and most are graduating from college. People born in 2000 are already completing masters degrees, make up a majority of the young workforce, and have an average of two children.

Your time is coming. Mortality is fleeting :3

[–] kig_v2@lemmygrad.ml 3 points 1 year ago

[–] cayde6ml@lemmygrad.ml 8 points 1 year ago

I'm not planning on ever dying. What's gonna stop you? Are you a nerd that's gonna let bourgeois laws of mechanics and thermodynamics and entropy stop you?! I think not!

[–] Facky@hexbear.net 7 points 1 year ago

Why would you say that? That's so mean!

[–] Rasm635u@lemmygrad.ml 5 points 1 year ago

Fuck dig, jeg er 16!

[–] REEEEvolution@lemmygrad.ml 4 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Yeah, I know. I was born 1989.

[–] Shinhoshi@lemmygrad.ml 5 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago) (1 children)

1990 is as far away as 2056

We are closer to the arrival of Haley’s Comet in 2061, then we are to the last time it was here in 1986.

The last time the comet was here, the Soviet Union was a country, Regan was president, and the Nintendo NES was just released.
