The alternative is admitting that they had a complete meltdown over a balloon. People can force themselves to believe basically anything if it can save them the embarrassment of admitting they were enthusiastically wrong.
Fucking Biden admitted they weren't fucking spy balloons Jesus fuck. We had actual new articles where at least one of them was confirmed it was for a Ham radio club or some shit. lol.

To be fair in the article the same person says it both is and isn't a spy balloon
I think the key part is the facts the article presents. US military now admits that the balloon did not do any spying, and that they believe the balloon most likely blew of course due to winds. The rest is just spin.
