Y'all surprised that Porsche of all brands is making expensive cars now? If you're upset about the Macan pricing, you can't afford it (new).

No, we're not surprised that Porsche is making an expensive car. The surprise is that specifically the Macan is starting that high. That's a $20k upcharge for the EV. Yes, Porsches are expensive, but this is far more of an upcharge to go EV than any other maker.

Lots of EVs are a much more than their ICE counterparts, especially on a percentage basis. Compare an ID4 vs Tiguan, or an XC40 vs recharge, or a lightning to a gas F150z or a Bz4x and a Rav4, or a blazer ev vs ice. These are all 10-15k more, on vehicles that cost less than half as much. This is on par. We don't even know the standard equipment, etc yet.

$80k means it's a full $20k more expensive than the base model. That's a ridiculous upcharge for an EV. I was excited for this car to come out, but I can't afford $80k.

Also, what happened to the Taycan that started at $80k?

Just get a Model Y at that point. Not worth the $20k upcharge.

Fuck any EV news for 50k+ cars.

80k is not an affordable price, fuck off Porsche
