In other news, water has been found to be remarkably damp, according to scientists from Well-Duh Laboratories.

[–] Kandorr@lemmy.world 10 points 1 year ago

Authoritarians literally believe that the only way to run things is to put a bully in charge of them. Not only don't they believe in democracy or cooperation, they don't believe in free speech or markets either.

(Markets are acceptable to an authoritarian only insofar as the bully in charge and his buddies are permitted to lie to, cheat, and steal from other market participants. It is strictly forbidden for other market participants to voluntarily organize to exclude the bully. Any form of organization that does not have a bully in charge of it is illicit to the authoritarian mindset.)

Seriously, they just want a kind father figure who will take care of them. Trump pretending to be that is pretty cruel. There's a whole lot more going on, but that's the core of it.

They embrace the darkness believing that they will escape their fate, little knowing that they will merely be disposed of LAST

[–] jordanlund@lemmy.one 4 points 1 year ago (3 children)

I'd say we need to bring back Schoolhouse Rock, but we need to bring back Saturday Morning Cartoons first. :)

[–] tills13@lemmy.world 23 points 1 year ago (3 children)

The fuck is wrong with these people?

[–] Bodongs@lemmy.world 6 points 1 year ago

He's a grifter. He doesn't believe anything he's saying, he's just like the guy he's pledging allegiance to. He'll collect in some way, whether it is in royalties from views, speaking engagements, or whatever. He's playing a character.

It doesn't excuse him or his bullshit. But guaranteed this is a grift on the manipulated masses.

[–] ki77erb@lemmy.world 4 points 1 year ago

So very much.

I thought Fuentes was helping Ye's campaign. What happened there?

[–] loobkoob@kbin.social 16 points 1 year ago (1 children)

He probably realised Ye isn't white.

[–] rockSlayer@lemmy.world 4 points 1 year ago

So THAT'S why he was covering his face when touring with Fuentes! /s

[–] GiddyGap@lemm.ee 10 points 1 year ago

He makes money off this behavior. Ignore. It's the only thing these people can't stand, including Trump.

[–] Hazdaz@lemmy.world 9 points 1 year ago

The same White Nationalists who want to defend "freedom" and our "democracy" also have no problem appointing a king of America.

[–] theodewere@kbin.social 6 points 1 year ago

only cowards and peasants feel the need for a king

[–] ArugulaZ@kbin.social 6 points 1 year ago

We don't have kings, you kill-billy freak. If you want a dictatorship, move to a third-world country where you belong.

[–] AceFuzzLord@lemm.ee 5 points 1 year ago

Not surprised his followers would see him in such a limelight.

[–] dragonflyteaparty@lemmy.world 5 points 1 year ago

Fucking what... I get it, they've been at this for a while. But what?

[–] autotldr@lemmings.world 5 points 1 year ago (1 children)

This is the best summary I could come up with:

Far-right activist Nick Fuentes voiced his support for Donald Trump by swearing allegiance to the former president in a video circulating on social media.

Trump, who surrendered at Atlanta's Fulton County Jail on Thursday after being indicted on 13 counts over allegations that he broke the law attempting to overturn the 2020 presidential election result in Georgia, has repeatedly denied any wrongdoing, describing the case against him as a politically motivated witch hunt.

Fuentes—described by the Southern Poverty Law Center as a white nationalist livestreamer who advocates pulling the Republican Party further to the extreme far-right end of the political spectrum—has had a rocky relationship with Trump.

Prior to November 2022, Fuentes was a vocal MAGA supporter who often spoke in favor of Trump and has criticized mainstream Republicans.

The Holocaust denier attended a dinner at Trump's Mar-a-Lago estate in November with rapper Kanye West, now known as Ye, along with two other men.

And I swear allegiance to God and Jesus Christ," Fuentes said in a video that was later shared to X, formerly Twitter, by account Right Wing Watch.

The original article contains 453 words, the summary contains 181 words. Saved 60%. I'm a bot and I'm open source!

Calling it "White Wing Watch" has a certain, hmm, wing to it?

[–] JdW@lemmy.world 4 points 1 year ago

In other news, sky still blue...for now.

[–] acutfjg@feddit.nl 4 points 1 year ago

Who cares. They've been saying this shit for years at this point

[–] Buelldozer@lemmy.today 4 points 1 year ago

Benjamin get the musket.

[–] Endorkend@kbin.social 4 points 1 year ago

I somewhat get people thinking having a good king is better than a bunch of quibling politicians, but kings weren't all powerful and the quibling politicians in their day were still the ones that actually ran the show.

And if you're going to chose a king, why chose orange painted generic loudmouth manchild number 5322.

[–] MrNesser@lemmy.world 3 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Hey if you guys are shopping round for a king......

[–] jordanlund@lemmy.one 3 points 1 year ago

Go home Prince Harry, you're drunk. 😉
