Hi guys, recently began to use mlauncher and it's quite good, but I'm looking for something similar but with a little more tweaks

Check out kiss and just make it all text based by search

Totally forgot about Kiss. Gonna try. It's a classic and a must have. Hope doesn't consume much RAM

[–] Tucumano88@lemmy.zip 1 points 1 year ago

Got almost 300 mb of ram and don't know why

Here is a list of other "Minimalistic / simple launchers" as well.

I have tried Discreet launcher and Simple launcher. Found both to be okay.

Check out Kvaesitso, if you ever decide to try out something different.

Kvaesitso 100℅. With the widgets setup for favorite app pinning, app tag filters for searching (made me not miss Nova launcher app drawer folders) and ability to add third party app widgets is a great mix of Nova, AOSP, and KISS.

I like discreet launcher. So many oss launchers don't support installing web apps from browsers, but it does, and it keeps my home screen clean. Only thing i don't like is that it flows icons as a list, so if you, say, remove an app early on the list, it moves all the apps after it back one.

I haven't used mlauncher and I'm not sure what kind of tweaks you're looking for but I love Niagara launcher. I recently tried a couple others for a pretty extended period of time but installing Niagara again felt like coming home.

Like make letters bold. Can't use Niagara in this phone is a memory eater

I also like Niagara, but I feel I'm are kinda forced to pay for the pro version to get all the features I need.

Is there a launcher that lets me hide applications and create folders?

Nova launcher is the last non FOSS application I use

...i hope you have it completely blocked off the internet.

Is there a launcher that lets me hide applications and create folders?

Neo Launcher i think is the closest to Nova.

[–] caos@feddit.de 2 points 1 year ago (2 children)

Yes, you could also look at Neo Launcher or Shade Launcher, both at in the F-Droid repo by Izzy

[–] iturnedintoanewt@lemm.ee 1 points 1 year ago

Shade seems not to have been updated in...three years. I'd guess it's dead.

[–] Ogygus@lemmy.world 1 points 1 year ago

Tried shade.. I can hide icons, but how do i create folders?

And there's no gesture support

[–] Ogygus@lemmy.world 0 points 1 year ago (1 children)

I tried it out, but it feels like a beta.

Crashed often, some things aren't well thought out! I'll let it brew for a few more years.

Yup, it bothers me it takes about 5 mins to realize there is a new app that I've just installed and that I'd very much like to find and launch...
