Welcome to the discussion of US Politics!

Rules:

  1. Post only links to articles, Title must fairly describe link contents. If your title differs from the site’s, it should only be to add context or be more descriptive. Do not post entire articles in the body or in the comments.

Links must be to the original source, not an aggregator like Google Amp, MSN, or Yahoo.

Example:

  1. Articles must be relevant to politics. Links must be to quality and original content. Articles should be worth reading. Clickbait, stub articles, and rehosted or stolen content are not allowed. Check your source for Reliability and Bias here.
  2. Be civil, No violations of TOS. It’s OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It’s NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). Strong language is fine, just not directed at other members. Engage in good-faith and with respect! This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban.
  3. No memes, trolling, or low-effort comments. Reposts, misinformation, off-topic, trolling, or offensive. Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. Report them, block them, and live a happier life than they do. We see too many slapfights that boil down to "Mom! He's bugging me!" and "I'm not touching you!" Going forward, slapfights will result in removed comments and temp bans to cool off.
  4. Vote based on comment quality, not agreement. This community aims to foster discussion; please reward people for putting effort into articulating their viewpoint, even if you disagree with it.
  5. No hate speech, slurs, celebrating death, advocating violence, or abusive language. This will result in a ban. Usernames containing racist, or inappropriate slurs will be banned without warning

We ask that the users report any comment or post that violate the rules, to use critical thinking when reading, posting or commenting. Users that post off-topic spam, advocate violence, have multiple comments or posts removed, weaponize reports or violate the code of conduct will be banned.

All posts and comments will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. This means that some content that violates the rules may be allowed, while other content that does not violate the rules may be removed. The moderators retain the right to remove any content and ban users.

That's all the rules!

Desatan is gonna be remembered as the guy whose presidential bid was destroyed by Mickey mouse lmao

[–] LeadSoldier@lemmy.world 59 points 1 year ago (2 children)

He's not going to be remembered. He's just another village idiot in the grand scheme of things.

[–] FakedFunk@lemmy.world 56 points 1 year ago (2 children)

As a Florida native, you are wrong. This dude has destroyed our state for years to come. And as a parent he has completely altered our educational system for generations.

[–] LeadSoldier@lemmy.world 10 points 1 year ago

I agree with you. Hopefully somebody will come in and fix it but realistically a lot of the damage is done. But history books aren't going to remember this idiot. I'm glad for that.

You guys can stop letting fox news convince you to vote for the worst possible candidate for everyone but the oligarchy at any time.

[–] lolcatnip@reddthat.com 21 points 1 year ago

You realize you're talking to someone who probably voted against him, right?

[–] wwaxwork@lemmy.world 4 points 1 year ago

That's the problem, no one remembers these idiots so the next generation keeps making the same mistakes. We should write this shit down in books, then actually teach it to kids, but fuck funding the soft sciences as long as the football team has new jerseys.

The absolute best DeSantis can do is second place to an adulterous blowhard.

[–] FlyingSquid@lemmy.world 13 points 1 year ago (1 children)

an adulterous blowhard.

I believe you mean a rapist.

[–] thisbenzingring@lemmy.sdf.org 10 points 1 year ago

A sexual predator blowhard

[–] some_guy@lemmy.sdf.org 4 points 1 year ago

Came here to say the same thing. This will be the thing that he thinks of as dooming his bid.

[–] Volkditty@kbin.social 60 points 1 year ago (1 children)

But didn't he specifically tell them they should just drop their suit and leave him alone? How rude of them.

[–] greendakota99@lemmy.world 28 points 1 year ago

He’s moving on! Stop bullying him!

[–] Jimmycakes@lemmy.world 39 points 1 year ago (1 children)

They gonna nuke this clown from orbit to send a message to the next bozo who wants to try this

[–] ZoopZeZoop@lemmy.world 19 points 1 year ago

The first part of this excites me. The second part scares the shit out of me.

[–] Khalic@kbin.social 34 points 1 year ago (4 children)

From what I understand, the standard set for proving retaliation is pretty high, they must have a smoking gun

[–] MacGuffin94@lemmy.world 101 points 1 year ago

Yeah. It's everything DeSantis has said in speaches and print regarding why and what he was doing to get back at Disney.

[–] TowardsTheFuture@lemmy.zip 52 points 1 year ago

I mean, they’ve got like 75 smoking guns to choose from so they should be okay. They dude openly admits to targeting their ass.

[–] rayyyy@kbin.social 27 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Disney has the apex take-no-prisoners lawyers.

[–] 520@kbin.social 32 points 1 year ago

Not to mention they're up against a moron that openly admits to retaliation.

[–] Hiccup@lemmy.dbzer0.com 2 points 1 year ago

He laid out his stupidity on a silver platter. It's been marvelous watching him sink by Disney.

[–] RobertOwnageJunior@lemmy.world 32 points 1 year ago (2 children)

I hate Disney, but GO DISNEY!

[–] Zithero@lemmy.world 4 points 1 year ago

"I don't want Disney to win, I just want DeSantis to lose."

[–] FlyingSquid@lemmy.world 3 points 1 year ago

The enemy of my enemy is my friend in this case for sure.
