"Manufacturers"... They all standardized already on USB-C except Apple.

Better Micro-USB Type A than Micro-USB Type C :^^^^^^).

Micro-USB Type A

Ugh, please no. That is the worst connector of them all and breaks way too easily. I am sooo happy that nearly all devices use USB-C now.

Well, Micro-USB C to be exact.

The normal USB C is quite different.

Edited:

Okay, I confused the two versions with type B.

Good news, time to have some universal standard for chargers.

They need to hussle up and standardize all EV adapters.

Wish they'd settle on an open standard and not USB though, which is proprietary. They're effectively funneling money into the USB organization and giving them an absolute monopoly.

Usb-c is the most perfect connector for pretty mucheverything, even if it took the USB consortium 15 years to finally make a non frustrating connector socket.

I don't think there is one. They all have a commercial body behind them.

Thunderbolt 3 is royalty free.

In other focus, DisplayPort and VGA.

I wish there were a standard which defined these kind of stuff

Well, if it'll save me €250m per year, I guess it's ok.
