It really does, I'm having a great time here! I'm interacting with new people, I'm not a lurker anymore, and now I'm even running my own instance.

What makes it even better is I found Memmy which is like I have Apollo but for lemmy now. I definitely see myself commenting more now that I have something that feels like home.

Absolutely! For being just a couple of days old, it’s ridiculously well engineered. I wonder if Christian hops aboard the Lemmy train, and gives a spin at creating his own Lemmy app. This could vastly increase attention to and traffic on Lemmy.

It’s only a few days old? I just happened to check at random today to see if anything was on iOS yet!

Yeah thats how I discovered it as well. At the time, it was the only Lemmy app available on iOS (not sure if there is more now), and I was surprised how well it works. It‘s also open source, and the guy making it seems to have a similar community driven approach in development as Christian has, which is greatly appreciated.

I rarely commented on reddit, but I often comment on lemmy, I’m not sure what it is, but I certainly like the communities here more, especially beehaw.

Beehaw's really friendly, and I like the space that instance has been building. Overall though, I've noticed all of Lemmy is generally more positive than Reddit, it's really refreshing.

I’ve noticed this too, its what caused me to sign up rather than lurk. I think part of the reason for this is the ability to defederate an instance lets you block a problematic group, leading to less bad faith conversations and trolling. I also think the smaller size of lemmy helps.

Also, I like how I don’t wind up doom scrolling here.
