I bought one for that purpose. Realized it's too much, the angles are so large I can't hold it for long periods without hurting my wrists, and it's really heavy, compounding the wrist pain issue. Also the triggers have way too much resistance.
Plus the battery life is really short.
I ended up buying an 8bitdo Ultimate. Much better.
The Edge has 3 "distance" settings for R2 and L2. I moved mine to the shortest setting since I was getting trigger fatigue from Final Fantasy XIV.

The shape of the Edge is weird. That and the parallel sticks hurt my hands after an hour or so. I have big ass mitts as well so that may be the cause.
The 8bitdo ultimate is my favorite of all time though. I don't think I'll ever find a more perfect controller. Can use it for hours with 0 issues.
