That is a weird thing to say. Russia, China and even the DPRK are ahead of the US in missile technology. The US is years behind on hypersonic missiles and you can easily verify this, you should not imagine these countries to be somehow technologically backwards compared to the west, if you believe so you have been misled by western propaganda. The US leads in air technology designed for asymmetrical warfare against non-peer opponents which is useless in a landwar against a modern adversary, and that's completely ignoring the fact that they haven't and won't give Ukraine anything with more than a 50mile range as they don't want Ukraine using it to attack mainland Russia starting ww3.

The US is still only in the prototype testing phase of hypersonic missiles. They are 3-5 years behind.
You need to get some perspective. The US is not the only power in this world and China's scientific research is faster and more efficient than the US. China accounted for 24.3% of the entire world's published research between 2018 and 2021 and it is pretty clear that they are collaborating with their strategic partners.
The world is changing and you're in denial about it. You're stuck in this mentality that the US will be #1 forever, it is bloated, inefficient and in decline. New ascendant powers are happening. These are all facts and you might not LIKE them but acting in denial does not change anything. It only serves to make you look like you can't absorb new info, or that you refuse to absorb info and adjust your worldview if it means viewing the US and the west as anything other than #1, it's exceptionalism, they aren't special.
Quality > quantity.

You understand the concept of hegemonic power, it is intuitive. America has been the hegemonic power since the world wars ended the British hegemony. Going back in time you have to look at things more regionally as the world was not as connected up as it is today but regional hegemonic powers were clear as day too whether it was the Caliphate, Rome, Egypt, Persians, various Chinese dynasties, Mongolians, etc etc.
There is no question about what "number one" means. It is blatantly obvious, and what is happening is the same as has happened many many times before. One hegemony is in decline while a new power and its allies is in ascendancy. The world is changing and you need to recalibrate, this perspective has absolutely nothing to do with Putin.
