I didn't get an iPod until Gen 2, but I got it through a pyramid scheme involving collecting enough codes through subscribing to services that you would get a free iPod out of it. They didn't expect people to get onto forums and share codes. Oops.
I've always wondered if people like you existed for real. That's some real cartoony, Disney channel original movie type scheming there. Good to know you got one over on a grifter too.
