I know everyone has made the switch, but the ReVanced team have stolen the API keys out of the real Reddit app and have made patchers available for multiple Reddit apps including RiF.

You'll need a fresh copy of the APK and:

Obviously NSFW is a no go but everything else should work.

Without porn, patching old RIF is genuinely not worth it. I'd rather wait and support the new Lemmy app by the same dev

Is the RIF guy making a Lemmy app!?

[–] StigCzar@lemmy.fmhy.ml 12 points 1 year ago

He said he's making one for Tildes on his goodbye page.

Username checks out. Who doesn't appreciate a little NFSW content?

I'm not a prude but I genuinely had no idea it was that big a thing on Reddit. I thought it all generally disappeared a few years ago. Just shows how huge a site it was I guess

Fuck Reddit. I’m here for the pr0n

I'm in the same boat, but thought I'd let people know just in case. My app of choice RelayForReddit is switching to a subscription model but 70% of my Reddit use was NSFW subs so not really worth it for me

Where does it use stolen api keys. Says I need to generate my own

[–] PolarisFx@lemmy.fmhy.ml 3 points 1 year ago (1 children)

I didn't try the process myself, last I heard they were using keys extracted from the official Reddit app. Maybe they thought that was a bad idea, and went a different route. Sorry, was just going by what I heard previously

So I did find a version with used the stolen api keys and sync works again!
